Junior Engineer

The Role
The Engineer leads the engineering team at Water Solution, working closely with the survey and environment team and supported by Water Solution's management to make sure projects succeed. In this role, the Engineer gives guidance and expertise to the engineering team, making sure everyone works well together and follows the project goals.
Competencies
· Experience in planning, organizing, and executing engineering projects.
· Strong understanding of engineering principles and methodologies.
· Lead and work well in a team environment.
· Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and protocols.
Qualification
· Bachelor's/master’s degree in engineering
· Minimum of 2 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop designs for coastal and marine projects, encompassing structures, erosion control measures, and harbor facilities.
- Lead in project coordination, collaborating with surveyors, environmental experts, and numerical modelers to ensure meticulous planning and execution.
- Collaborate with surveyors undertaking topographical and bathymetric surveys for the formulation of coastal structures and an in-depth understanding of marine environments.
- Work with environmental experts to conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for coastal projects, ensuring strict adherence to environmental regulations and sustainable practices.
- Coordinate with numerical modelers to simulate and analyze coastal processes, such as wave dynamics and sediment transport, providing valuable insights to inform engineering designs and solutions.
- Prepare drawings, plans, and engineering documents vital for the successful implementation of projects, integrating inputs from various technical experts.
- Develop engineering bidding documents and tenders in project proposals through collaborative efforts with the team.
- Conduct site inspections to assess construction progress, inspect materials and enforce compliance with stringent engineering specifications.
- Enhancing the capacity and skills of the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and multidisciplinary work environment.
- Facilitate information exchange among team members, including surveyors, environmental experts, and numerical modelers, ensuring effective project implementation.
- Address and resolve unique challenges and conditions specific to the Maldivian coastal environment, leveraging local knowledge and expertise for innovative engineering solutions.
- Remain informed of advancements in coastal and marine engineering, integrating cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to continually enhance project outcomes.
- Engage in communication with local communities and stakeholders to gain insights, address concerns, and ensure that engineering solutions align with the needs and priorities of the Maldivian populace.
- Undertake additional technical and managerial responsibilities as assigned by the management at Water Solutions.

Junior Surveyor

The Role:
As a Junior Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting various surveying tasks and data collection
activities. These tasks will encompass topographic surveying, setting out surveying, engineering
measurements, hydrographic surveys, and UAV mapping. You will play a crucial role in providing
surveying support services for a diverse range of projects.
Competencies:
1. Proficiency in Dhivehi and English.
2. Ability to work in diverse field environments with adaptability and quick learning of new
technical skills.
3. Familiarity with modern surveying systems including GNSS, UAV, USV, laser scanning, and
GIS.
4. Strong teamwork skills.
5. Minimum of one year of surveying experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate, coordinate, and oversee surveying projects undertaken by Water Solutions.
2. Plan and execute surveys under the guidance of the Chief Surveyor.
3. Assist the Chief Surveyor in data compilation, digitization, geo-referencing, and other GIS tasks
to establish a geospatial database.
4. Support the Environmental Studies and Environmental Impact Assessment Studies conducted by
the environment team by creating maps and visualizations.
5. Participate in field visits, project report preparation, and related documentation alongside the
environment and survey teams.
6. Facilitate effective information sharing among project stakeholders.
7. Prepare surveying equipment and ensure necessary materials are available for surveys.
8. Conduct topographic surveys, as-built surveys, hydrographic surveys, and setting out surveys for
company projects.
9. Ensure all field equipment, forms, maps, and materials are in working order before field
operations.
10. Development of necessary skills required to complete the designated tasks.
11. Taking care of the instruments.
12. Ensure all the field expenses occurred in the field is properly accounted as required by the
accountant.

The Role:
This role is for someone practical and proactive, able to handle various mechanical, electrical, construction, and maintenance tasks. You'll help keep the facility running safely and efficiently.
Competencies:
- Experience working in marine or industrial environments, with a flexible approach to supporting various site needs.
- Capable of identifying and resolving common mechanical and electrical issues.
- Hands-on experience with carpentry, masonry, painting, and light construction tasks.
- Knowledgeable in the care, maintenance, and repair of tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Able to perform welding, basic electrical and plumbing work, as well as fabrication when needed.
- Follow safety procedures and maintaining a clean, well-organized workspace.
- Collaborates with technicians, contractors, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Able to coordinate with others when needed to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Proven experience in multi-skill trades (welding, mechanical, construction, etc.)
- problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment operation and maintenance.
